The educational seminar will be held at the Avalon Manor, 3550 U.S. HWY 30, Merrillville, Indiana.

Start the day with a continental breakfast.  There will be a variety of vendors with information on anything and everything to do with Parkinson’s related issues.  From health and nutrition to Tai Chi exercises to home health care options there is something for everyone.  Browse and chat with the vendors, enjoy breakfast, then get set for the main event.

Northwest Indiana Parkinson’s Disease Support Group

 

The topics include Parkinson’s related issues of the different medicines and interactions, clinical trials, supplements, exercise geared toward Parkinson’s patients, nutrition and diet, deep brain stimulation, and much more.

 

Approximately 60,000 Americans are diagnosed with Parkinson's Disease each year.  Men are 1 1/2 times more likely to have Parkinson's than women.  There are as many as 1 million Americans living with Parkinson's Disease. 

The Northwest Indiana Parkinson’s Symposium is informational for patients, caregivers, health professionals, family and friends of people with Parkinson’s Disease.

A lunch will be served.  The cost is $20 per person or $35 for an attendee and one guest.  The fee covers the breakfast, lunch and some materials.
